Prague, the capital city of the relatively small Czech Republic, lies in the heart of Europe, neighboring with Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Poland. It is one of Europe’s best preserved cities, as it is the only Eastern European capital to escape the bombs of the last century’s wars. Since the Middle Ages, Prague has been known as one of the most beautiful cities of the world. It offers painters and photographers an unparalleled opportunity to capture stunning palaces, churches, monasteries, arcaded houses, and gardens. Stunning painting subjects include the Vltava River, graceful bridges, and centuries old buildings with their Art Nouveau facades, red roofs, and spires that reach toward the sky.
You will have opportunities to explore Prague, visit historic sites, art museums and galleries within walking distance of our hotel. Prague and the Czech Republic have a reputation for outstanding food, fun, art, music, beer, and superb shopping. Our group will share two special folklore dinners in traditional Czech restaurants, one including a brewery, the other a memorable folk show.
Our travels in the Czech Republic will take us to two other towns, Karlovy Vary (with world-renowned spas) to the northwest, and the UNESCO preserved, Cesky Krumlov to the south. We will stay in each of these towns 2 to 3 nights each, with an opportunity to paint and explore more of the countryside. Our bus driver and guide will be with us to insure our holistic experience in this beautiful country is unforgettable.
