Stella teaches a uniquely relaxed, natural way of expressing an individual emotional response to a subject or scene.  She will help you further develop your creativity and free expression in order to capture the medium in an expressive, bold and direct fashion.  You will gain confidence in your own ability and be freed of the pressure of judgment.  Color, line, shape relationships, lost and found edges as well as drawing will be discussed in order to understand and implement successfully the seven elements and the theory of design in the painting.  The daily routine will exist of demonstrations, individual instructions and critiques.  Individual instruction time is geared towards the individual needs of each student.  Stella’s high-spirited teaching will stimulate and enthuse you to embrace the process and enjoy the challenge of this exiting medium.

Stella Canfield was born and raised in Bulgaria.  After coming to the USA in 1985, Stella pursued her lifelong interest in the arts.  She has been invited to teach, demonstrate and judge shows by numerous arts organizations and Watercolor Societies.  Her passion and enthusiasm for watercolor and teaching have led her to teaching nationally and overseas.  Stella's paintings are included in many private and corporate collections in the USA, Europe and Asia.  Stella divides her time between Coupeville, WA, USA and Barzitsa, Bulgaria
